IFLA Journal and IFLA’s Indigenous Matters Section are pleased to announce a call for papers for a special issue focused on theory and practice in Indigenous librarianship.

IFLA is looking for volunteers who have the time, dedication and enthusiasm to help deliver a successful IFLA Congress 2020 in Dublin, Ireland!

IFLA will live-stream 11 plenary and concurrent sessions of the 2019 World Library and Information Congress (WLIC).

The 2020 IFLA World Library and Information Congress will be held in Dublin, Ireland from 15 – 21 August 2020.

The purpose of this survey is to determine how libraries around the world recognize and meet the needs of LGBTIQ+ populations, as well as the need for cisgender and/or heterosexual populations to have access to information and resources about LGBTIQ+ people and issues.

Projects from the University of British Columbia Library and the Federation of Ontario Public Libraries were recognized by the IFLA Section on Management and Marketing as 1st place winner of the 2019 IFLA PressReader International Marketing Award (UBC) and a top ten project finalist (FOPL).

These papers document the resilience of the institution of libraries amidst difficult social conditions. At the same time, they provide compelling evidence of the role of transnational collaboration within the development of library systems coping with circumstances that challenge the ability to maintain collections, preserve cultural heritage, and make information accessible.
