Theme: Libraries Create Community
The Saskatchewan Libraries Conference is an annual event that provides the premier professional development opportunity for anyone working in library and information services in Saskatchewan.
The theme for the 2024 conference is “Libraries Create Community,” inviting us to explore the many ways that libraries build, enhance, and empower their communities. Some of the ways that the SLA Conference Program Committee sees libraries creating community are:
- Developing library collections or services that reflect and support our province’s diverse communities;
- Creating relevant communities of practice for library workers;
- Library students sharing research projects with the broader library community;
- Providing instruction to create information-literate citizens in our communities; and
- Gathering community in reconciliation and decolonization initiatives.
