April 13, 2021 April 16, 2021

Theme: Ascending into An Open Future

Hashtag: #acrl2021

Today’s higher education environment calls for innovative ways to support student, faculty, and institution success. Submit your ideas for presentation at ACRL 2021 in Seattle, where we will explore the theme Ascending into An Open Future in the hometown of the iconic, soaring Space Needle.

Through the work of talented library workers like you, and ACRL’s commitments to equitable and open scholarship as well as equity, diversity and inclusion, today’s academic and research libraries are providing more open and inclusive collections and services. Share your ideas with your colleagues in Seattle as we work together for an open future. Find colleagues and join the conversation on #acrl2021.

The ACRL Virtual Conference enhances the conference experience for attendees onsite and also provides an important professional development opportunity to those unable to travel to ACRL 2021.

The Virtual Conference will feature Slidecasts (PowerPoint presentations synced with real-time audio) from every contributed paper, invited presentation, panel session, and TechConnect program presented at ACRL 2021. These slidecasts, nearly 200 total, will be available online for all online-only and face-to-face participants shortly after the conference.

This means that online-only Virtual Conference participants will be able to see and hear every paper and panel program, and face-to-face conference participants will no longer have to regret the programs they missed because there was so much going on at the same time! This feature gives you more for your money and provides an opportunity to revisit sessions all year long.

Additionally, the Virtual Conference will include the archive of virtual poster sessions presented onsite in Seattle.

And, if that’s not enough, the Virtual Conference will include a number of live webcasts accepted exclusively for presentation at the Virtual Conference. These webcasts will bring librarians together within the virtual community to interact in real time with online-only participants.
