SHAKE IT UP! ALC 2016 will have sessions that challenge and provoke new and radical ways to reach our communities and offer examples of thinking outside the box. We’ll learn about new ideas or drastic changes taking place in the library world. We’ll hear how progressive libraries are experimenting with new ways to deliver service and build collections. Recent years have brought news of new public service models, new discovery systems, virtual branches, library vans and book bikes, kiosks in innovative locations, information neighbourhoods, zone staffing, embedded librarians, data curation, repositories, and other service innovations. The library community is embracing new service models that recognize the importance of digital information, find new ways to reach outside of the traditional library walls, and engender collaboration with new and intriguing community partners. Come to ALC 2016 to hear about the evolution of libraries and how innovative they really are!
