Theme: Libraries in ACTION! / Les bibliothèques en ACTION!

What could be better than the enchanting City of Fredericton on the beautiful St. John River in early June? We look forward to welcoming you here for APLA 2018! Come learn AND celebrate with us as APLA marks its 100th birthday! Our organizing committee is hard at work to make this a conference to remember!

The lovely Wu Conference Centre on the University of New Brunswick campus will be the main location for our proceedings, with off-campus events providing opportunities to explore other parts of the Capital City. To kick things off, the opening reception will be held at the newly-expanded Beaverbrook Art Gallery; come see the Dalis in their brand new purpose-built space!

Our conference theme – Libraries in Action / Bibliothèques en action – is meant to be elastic enough to incorporate diverse areas of library engagement; we’re aiming for a varied program. We do, however, hope to focus some attention on libraries’ response to the Truth and Reconciliation Committee’s Calls to Action, building on the excellent sessions held at our last conference in Charlottetown. Elder-in-Residence at UNB, Imelda Perley, has graciously accepted our invitation to accompany us on our journey as we prepare for 2018.
