Description: Libraries are changing in small and profound ways, and we are surrounded by changing communities with changing needs. One of the greatest challenges for leaders is leading teams through change. This workshop will provide an overview of good change management principles and provide tips on how to foster openness to change and confidently lead your team. The session will include case studies and interactive discussions.

Presenter: Anne O’Shea (she/her) is the founder of Craft Strategic – a social impact practice supporting Canadian libraries in strategy, research, service planning, impact assessment and team development. Anne has more than 20 years of library experience in public, special, and academic libraries, and most recently served as the Deputy Executive Director and COO at Vancouver Island Regional Library, where she led strategic and operational planning, IT and library collections for 39 branch libraries across BC’s island and coastal region. Between 2008 and 2018, Anne held several leadership roles at the Vancouver Public Library. Anne holds an Executive Certificate in Social Impact Strategy (UPenn), Bachelor of Arts (SFU), and Master of Library and Information Studies (UBC). A proud member of the LGBT2SIQA+ communities, she is privileged to live with her family in Snuneymuxw territory on Vancouver Island.
