Theme: Multicultural Canada: How do libraries foster inclusion and social cohesion in Canada’s multicultural communities?

Cycling for Libraries is a politically and economically independent international unconference for librarians and library lovers, and a bicycle tour, which aims to gather attention for libraries in new and interesting ways. In 2016 the tour will take us to Canada. Along the way we will be visiting academic, public and special libraries and discussing library issues.

We will meet in the beautiful Niagara region, beginning the cycling tour in Welland, Ontario. After visiting libraries, wineries and Niagara Falls in this regsion, we will cycle by the shores of Lake Ontario and the Niagara vineyards to Hamilton. From there we will head south to visit the Six Nations Reserve and historic Brantford on the Grand River.  We will finish our tour cycling along the north shore of Lake Ontario to head back to Toronto.

The participation fee ($475.00 CAN) will include accommodation for six nights, breakfast and lunch, luggage transport during the tour, and also variety of activities and events during the trip.

All accommodations have been prebooked in university dormitories.   Rooms will be shared with twin beds with a maximum of 6 persons per room.
