The idea for LIS (Library and Information Studies) Mental Health week came from Cecily Walker and Kelly McElroy, who designated January 18-22, 2016 as the first #lismentalhealth week.

LIS Mental Health Week aims to raise awareness of mental health among library and archives workers through “a week-long series of posts, Twitter chats, podcasts, and resource sharing about mental health issues for people who suffer and for their loved ones.”
