So much about the student experience has changed in unexpected and dramatic ways over the last few years, and along with a host of changes in technology, social media and software, and the ways we use communal spaces, there is increasing pressure for librarians to re-think the way we design space to support them.

In this session, we’ll take a deep dive into key changes in student expectations; how to shift our approach, and overall, how to design and maintain great study space that serves students now and into the future.

Note: While this session discusses changing expectations and approaches to designing student study space in academic libraries, there will be opportunities provided for participants to share their perspectives and experiences on shifts in library space use and to brainstorm ideas for changing approaches to space design for all types of libraries, including public, school, and other special libraries.

This event is a collaboration between The Annual Institute of Library as Place and The Education Institute.
