Call for Applications: CAPAL Early Career Researcher Award

Dear Colleagues,
The CAPAL Awards Committee is delighted to announce the opening of applications for our inaugural Early Career Researcher Award! This annual award, which includes a $500 prize and a one-year CAPAL membership, is designed to encourage and celebrate research excellence among early career professional academic librarians.
If you have recently published or presented research that has made a significant impact on library and information science (LIS) and the broader community, we invite you to apply. This award is open to individuals who have graduated from an MLIS program or equivalent within the last five years. Group submissions are also welcome, with the prize money split among the winners (each winner will receive a one-year CAPAL membership).

Nomination packages should include:
- A copy of the research output being nominated.
- A reflective statement commenting on the impact of the research on your personal librarianship practice and the broader LIS community.
- For collaborative works, a clear articulation of each contributor’s role.
- Applicant CV (2-3 pages highlighting library work experience, qualifications, research interests, and publications).
