Call for Submissions: Canadian Health Libraries Association (CHLA) Annual Conference 2022

Call for Submissions: Canadian Health Libraries Association (CHLA) Annual Conference 2022

November 25, 2021

The 2022 CHLA/ABSC Planning Committee invites submissions for the Annual Conference to be held in Niagara Falls, Ontario (June 11-13). The theme of the conference is Let’s Try This Again. We invite attendees to share their stories of resiliency, facing adversity, their vision for the future, and lessons from the past. We welcome and encourage submissions in both English and French and from all information professionals, including library technicians and librarians.

The 2022 CHLA/ABSC conference will be a hybrid conference and we will be accepting submissions to present virtually or in-person. See our Presenter Information page for presenter requirements for virtual and in-person presentations.

The online abstract submission site is now live via the CHLA/ABSC 2022 Conference website. To be considered, submissions must be received by January 14, 2022, 11:59 pm PST. Because of the extended length of time initially provided for submissions, an additional extension of the call for submissions WILL NOT occur.

Paper, Poster, & Lightning Talk Submissions

For Paper, Poster, or Lightning Talk abstract submissions ONLY please use this link. https://pheedloop.com/CHLAABSC2022/proposal/start/?call=CAL7QRTTS4VLUUB

Authors are asked to rank how they would prefer to present their work: as a paper, poster, or lightning talk. Abstracts not accepted to a first choice will be considered for second and third choices. Please note that interactive workshops are their own unique type of submission and cannot be ranked along with papers, posters or lightning talks. Please use the specific Interactive Workshop link below to apply to this submission type.

When submitting structured abstracts, authors must select one of the following:

  1. Research abstracts: report on designing, conducting, and analyzing a research project.
  2. Program description abstracts: describe the creation and improvement of products, programs, technologies, administrative practices, or services conducted by librarians and information professionals.

Interactive Workshop Submissions

For Interactive Workshop abstract submissions ONLY please use this link. https://pheedloop.com/CHLAABSC2022/proposal/start/?call=CALBXSU74ZAN4ZT

The Program Committee is following in the footsteps of the Winnipeg Conference Planning Committee and including interactive workshops in the program. These interactive workshops will be in-depth, engaging sessions structured around active participation and active learning. These sessions should be on a specific topic that is relevant to health libraries.

Interactive workshops abstracts should include: a description of the target audience, learning outcomes, and the specific interactivity/participation proposed for the session.

Please refer to the Abstract FAQ Page for additional information.
