Oral History Course from AABC

Just in time to help you manage your oral history collection that will be used to help answer all the genealogical requests that happen after the holidays!
Registration is now open for the AABC distance education course Oral History: From Theory to Practice.
Course duration: January 4 – March 14, 2016
Using two recently revised publications: Curating Oral Histories (Left Coast Press, 2nd ed; 2015) and The Oral History Reader (Routledge, 3rd ed; 2015), students will be introduced to the theory and practice of conducting oral history in seven modules that cover:
- Introducing Oral History
- Administration
- The Interview
- Description and Transcription
- Technology and Preservation
- Public Outreach
- Case Studies
Cost: AABC member $350CAD / Non-member $500CAD plus the cost of course textbooks
Limit: 20 participants
Registration starts: October 6, 2015
Registration closes: December 7, 2015
