As of October 23rd, 2025, the Alberta Association of Library Technicians (AALT) has officially voted to dissolve as an association.
Laura Winton appointed Chief Executive Officer of St. Albert Public Library

The Board of Trustees of the St. Albert Public Library today announced the appointment of Laura Winton as the Library’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective February 2026. Winton succeeds Peter Bailey who retired at the end of August after 24 years of service, including 15 years as CEO.
IFLA Selects London, United Kingdom to Host the 2027 World Library and Information Congress

The St. Thomas Public Library Board announced the appointment of Aaron DeVries as CEO/Chief Librarian, effective January 1, 2026. He succeeds Heather Robinson who is retiring after a decade as the Library’s CEO.
