The Toronto Public Library (TPL) Board today announced the appointment of Moe Hosseini-Ara as its new City Librarian, effective September 1, 2025. He succeeds Vickery Bowles, who has served as City Librarian since 2015.

The Fédération des milieux documentaires (FMD) announced the appointment of Céline de Dianous as its new executive director (directrice générale) effective June 4, 2025.

Hyman succeeds Christina de Castell, who departed VPL earlier this year after seven years as the Library’s CEO.

Prior to this appointment, Amanda Etches served as interim university librarian, associate university librarian, research, and head, discovery and access at the McLaughlin Library.
