The 3rd annual True North Science Boot Camp is moving to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – The Gateway to the North!

TNSBC 2016 will be held on the University of Alberta Campus from Wednesday, May 25th at noon through Friday, May 27th at 1:30 pm.

Highlights include:

  • Sessions on wildlife conservation, the Phoenix Mars Mission, hunting dinosaurs in Alberta, and fun with thermodynamics
  • Sessions on issues in scholarly communication, including librarians and data management, and how researchers choose where to publish
  • Lots of opportunities to network with your Science Librarian colleagues
  • Social activities: a wine and cheese reception on the High Level Bridge Streetcar overlooking the beautiful Edmonton River Valley, and the Boot Camp banquet at the University of Alberta Faculty Club
  • Low registration fees of $115 for commuters, and $280 for full registrants with two nights’ private accommodation on campus and several meals. For our colleagues south of the border, note that these fees are in Canadian dollars. The US dollar exchange rate will make our Boot Camp a great value for your professional development dollar.
