Alvin Schrader Recognized and Thanked by CULC Members for Contributions and Leadership
October 1, 2018
Members of the Canadian Urban Libraries Council (CULC) today unanimously passed a motion to recognize Alvin Schrader for his contributions to the profession:
WHEREAS Alvin Schrader has spent a career in librarianship inspiring, educating and supporting and defending the issues surrounding Intellectual Freedom for Canadians and the role that the library plays in that ecosystem.
GIVEN THAT contribution it is imperative to recognize Alvin’s lifetime contribution. CULC/CBUC recognizes this contribution and thanks him for his leadership and support.

This Is truly humbling. I am so taken aback! Thank you Maureen and Vickery most sincerely for nominating me and to the CULC membership for this great honour. I am speechless.
Congratulations! On receiving this well- deserved honour. You have inspired and supported me and my small town library in more ways than you’ll ever truly know. Thank you!
