CFLA Copyright Committee Update (May 2022)

Members of the CFLA Copyright Committee will present two sessions at the upcoming ABC Copyright Conference on May 25-27, one on activities of the committee, and one on the controlled digital lending work and draft position statement
The Committee produced an open letter in response to the inclusion of the copyright term extension in the federal Budget, and this was approved by CFLA executive and sent.
The AI working group has produced a paper on text and data mining and AI, which is under review by the full committee
The Controlled Digital Lending working group has drafted a position statement and will be refining it over the next couple of months
A new working group was created to address gathering data to support copyright advocacy, and work on crown copyright and accessibility advocacy continues
