Call for Proposals: 2018 Rural Libraries Conference
February 12, 2018
You are invited to attend the 2018 Rural Libraries Conference at the Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre in Grande Prairie, Alberta which will take place on September 27 and 28, 2018.
This annual conference, hosted by Peace Library System, attracts more than 150 delegates, including library trustees, school and public library staff and librarians from northwestern Alberta, northeastern British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories. Over the course of two days, delegates are able to network, attend the exhibitor tradeshow, and participate in sessions on a variety of library-related topics.
This year’s theme will be The Future Focused Library. We are particularly looking for sessions on the future of libraries and how that topic intersects with technology and society, but will accept submissions on a variety of library-related topics, including diversity and inclusion, collection development, programming ideas, marketing and promotion, management, advocacy, trustee education, and more.
We are currently seeking session proposals for one hour and fifteen minute presentations at the conference. To submit your proposal, send the following information to the conference coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org:
- Contact information: including mailing address, phone number and e-mail address

- Session description (around 100 words)
The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 9th, 2018.
