Call for Proposals: Saskatchewan Libraries Conference 2022

Call for Proposals: Saskatchewan Libraries Conference 2022

October 28, 2021

The Saskatchewan Libraries Conference 2022 will be held in-person at The Hotel Saskatchewan in Regina, Saskatchewan on May 4, 5 and 6, 2022.

Please submit your proposal using the online submission form by December 13, 2021.

Conference Theme – Libraries Rise Above

The theme for the Saskatchewan Libraries Conference 2022 is “Libraries Rise Above”. This theme reflects the innovation, flexibility and resilience of libraries to meet their communities’ evolving needs. Libraries are a flexible, resilient, constantly evolving force that rise to meet community needs especially in the areas of life-long learning, innovation, social connection, and economic well-being of our province.

Submissions should reflect the theme of the Saskatchewan Libraries Conference.

We invite submissions for the following (session lengths do not include set-up time):

Long-form Sessions: 30/45-minute sessions to share ideas, programs, or joint research results. This format best suits panel discussions, interactive sessions including audience participation, or joint presentations from 2 or more institutions. A 5-10 minute question period will follow each session.

Short-form Sessions: 5/10/20-minute sessions that will be scheduled with other presentations as lightning-round talks. These are best done solo because they will be stacked in a session block with related content. A short general question period will close out the session. Regardless of length, these sessions should be innovative, thought-provoking, and engaging. This is a great opportunity for first-time or reluctant conference presenters.

Poster Sessions: Posters are a great way to share your ideas and research relating to specific programs and projects. There will be a set time to stand by your poster so attendees can inquire about your work.

In addition to presentations around the conference theme, there is an ongoing interest in library leadership and career development. We would also like to invite presenters to submit a session proposal for these two areas.

Confirmation of Sessions

The Conference Program Committee will review all submissions. The committee may request modifications or changes to your submission in order to more closely align with the theme and the overall program schedule. You will receive an email confirming your participation in the conference by mid-January. Program changes must be requested within the 2-week period following the confirmation of your presentation.

Conference Registration

All presenters must register for the conference as delegates.
