Cooperation Saskatchewan Style: 20 Years of Success

The Saskatchewan Library Association (SLA) is a province-wide, volunteer, charitable organization with a mandate to further the development of library service. The vision of SLA is to support Saskatchewan library staff and libraries in the pursuit of excellent library service for all. The Association supports the activities of all Saskatchewan libraries, including school, public, academic, and special libraries.

Saskatchewan’s Multitype Library Board (MLB) celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2016 with the passage of the provincial government’s The Libraries Co-operation Act, 1996. SLTA and SLA passed motions in 1985 and 1985 respectively to establish a large forum to discuss library issues facing Saskatchewan. It is bringing together around 250 delegates, exhibitors, and presenters representing a variety school, public, academic, and special libraries from municipal and rural regions across the province as well as other organization and those that work with the Multitype Library Board (MLB).

The theme this year, Cooperation Saskatchewan Style: 20 Years of Success, will provide an opportunity for libraries and library workers to explore cooperation between libraries and various other organizations in various contexts and to celebrate their work in providing programs and services. We continue to value diversity and are also looking for presenters that provide presentations that focus on issues of inclusivity and diversity.

We invite you to join the celebration and submit a proposal to present at the conference.
