Call for Participation: Former Student Librarian Work Experience Survey

Call for Participation: Former Student Librarian Work Experience Survey

October 7, 2025

Hello!

We are conducting a study on librarians who completed their Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) or equivalent within the last six years and also who worked in an academic library during their time as an MLIS student. We would like to hear from you if:

  • You completed a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) or equivalent in the past six years,
  • You worked in an academic library while completing your graduate studies; and
  • You are currently working as an information professional

This survey will run until November 7 and should take less than 2 minutes to complete.

Participation is voluntary. All questions are optional, and you may close the survey and withdraw from the study at any time. If you withdraw before the survey results are submitted, your responses will not be included, and your data will be destroyed. As the survey is anonymous, after you submit your results, your data cannot be withdrawn. Results will be shared in aggregate through an information studies journal and presentation.

This survey has been reviewed and received clearance from McGill University’s Research Ethics Board.

If you have questions, you may contact the researchers, Veronica Bergsten (veronica.bergsten@mcgill.ca; 514- 396-2067) or Dawn McKinnon (dawn.mckinnon@mcgill.ca; 514-398-5499).
