A hero who has inspired you in your career?

Barbara Frum for journalism, my first career. She was very forthright and got straight answers from her subjects.

The first job you ever held and at what age?

Resume typesetter/editor at the University of Regina

Your first position in the library and/or information services field?

Graduate Resource Centre as a librarian assistant (Western University)

Coolest thing in your cubicle or office?

Nothing much now, as I just started a new job.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Salted dark chocolate.

Career advice – what’s your top tip?

Be humble and willing to take jobs that no one will take. It shows initiative and a good work ethic.

What useless skill(s) do you possess?

Doing crosswords from the Metro in a short amount of time.

Proudest moment in your professional life?

Helping national reporters from CBC media library especially on tight deadlines.

If you had 24 hours all to yourself, how would you best like to spend it?

Sleep in, take a good slow run, indulge in Japanese food, get a spa treatment.

If you didn’t work in the information industry, what would you be doing?

A lawyer.
