Will a Librarian Stereotype and a Hollywood Movie Stereotype Find True Love This Holiday Season?

December 1, 2021

‘Tis the season of Hallmark Christmas-style movies and Librarianship.ca wants you explore your creative side and come up with a tale fit for an information professional!

To enter the contest, we want you to create the plot of a Christmas romance movie that features an information professional (it can be a librarian, an information management consultant, an archivist, a library technician, an iSchool professor, a vendor, or whoever) and/or an information setting.

You don’t need to write the whole screenplay. Just give us:

  • A title
  • An outline plot summary
  • Your name and organization/affiliation

The total length of the entry (including the title and summary) should be no more than 250 words long.

Entries will be judged on their entertainment value.

A jury will review all submissions and select a winner who will receive a $50 gift certificate to Chapter Indigo or an independent Canadian bookseller.

All submissions will be published to Librarianship.ca following the selection of the winner.

Entries should be emailed to info@librarianship.ca by noon (Pacific Time) on December 13, 2021.

This contest is open to all members of the Canadian library and information management community.
