REMINDER – Call For Submissions: Why Do You Do What You Do?

REMINDER – Call For Submissions: Why Do You Do What You Do?

November 6, 2016

Our stories are shaped by the paths we have taken and the people we have met; our stories inform us, and others in our community. Sharing our unique experiences of librarianship with others in our field can strengthen us all. Whether you have been in the field for 3 years or 30 years, members of the Canadian library and information community are passionate about their work and have meaningful, inspiring tales to tell. We call on you to share your wisdom, humor, anecdotes and stories that have helped you to become the library and information professional you are today.

Can you recall one specific experience that was extremely satisfying, gratifying, or grounding to you in a way that made you PROUD to be a library professional?

Do you hold any memories so dear that recalling them can elevate your mood and you find yourself looking back to them from time to time? Describe your Library Happy Place.

Has there ever been a moment where you felt compelled to just stop, take stock of your surroundings and think “I love my job!”?

You are unique, and so is your story; share it with us.

We will collect these stories to publish as an eBook and share them with our community.

Our narratives are chapters in a book we are writing as a profession.
These are our lives. These are our stories.

Send it to robyn@librarianship.ca.

It can be long, it can be short. it can be a memory or reflection.
