Saskatchewan Budget Cuts to Libraries

On March 22, 2017, the Government of Saskatchewan tabled a provincial budget which:

• eliminated the provincial operating grant of $1.3 million for municipal library systems in Regina and Saskatoon; and
• reduced funding to 7 of 8 regional library systems by 58% (a decrease of $3.5 million from $6 million in the previous year)
