CFLA National Forum and Manitoba Libraries Conference Cancelled

Dear Members and to the Canadian Library Community:

The Canadian Federation of Library Association and the Manitoba Library Association have made the decision to cancel the upcoming National Forum and Manitoba Libraries Conference, April 6-8 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

On March 11, COVID-19 was assessed and declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). It is understood that mass gatherings pose great risk. It is with sadness, that we are obligated to cancel this event as scheduled.

The health, safety, and well-being of everyone concerned are our top priorities.
Furthermore, the professional responsibilities of our library community and their
obligations to manage library programs and services at their own workplaces is
duly recognized.

If Members require support or assistance in making decisions regarding their upcoming events or conferences they are encouraged to reach out to the CFLA-FCAB and MLC team.

CFLA and MLC have been looking forward to having you join us in Winnipeg, MB Where the Rivers Meet for over 18 months. The CFLA-FCAB and MLA Boards, the Program and Planning Committees, and Partners remain dedicated to the conference experience and the stellar program that has been developed. The objectives of the National Forum and the Manitoba Libraries Conference remain unchanged. We wish to pursue this program with our members and the library community and will be exploring all possibilities.

Thank you for your enthusiasm and interest in the CFLA-FCAB National Forum and the Manitoba Libraries Conference 2020. We look forward to providing you with more information on the status of our conference.
