Consultation: Toward a Federation of Library Associations in Canada
October 15, 2015
On October 8, 2015, the Future Federation Working Group released the proposal entitled Toward a Federation of Library Associations in Canada : Strengthening the national voice for Canadian libraries. The proposal is the result of eight months of discussion and collaboration by a diverse group of representatives from the provincial, territorial and national sector associations brought together to contemplate a new form for our sector’s national library association.
We have asked you to review the proposal in detail, from the first section through to the final remarks in anticipation of providing feedback to the Working Group. Below is a link to a survey where you can provide your comments on the proposal for a Federation of Library Associations in Canada. We encourage you take the time to respond to this: the information we gather will be critical for determining any future revisions and next steps.

We, the Working Group, are excited by the prospect of a truly national voice for libraries – one that embraces a broader range of colleagues across the country and strengthens the community. We hope you are as optimistic and excited about this vision for the future as we are.
