Canadian Public Libraries Call on Multinational Publishers to Make More Content Available

Canadian Public Libraries for Fair Ebook Pricing has issued an open letter to five multinational publishers calling for more reasonable prices and terms for ebooks.

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) has approved a resolution calling for action from the federal government on ebooks.

Public librarians working in Youth Services or Young Adult Librarianship are invited to take part in a research project called “Young Adult Use of E-Books: An Analysis of Public Library Information and Resource Offerings”.

The Nova Scotia Provincial Library, Halifax Public Libraries, and the Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association have collaborated to provide greater access to the region’s ebooks through a project called Read Local.
