Library and Information Technician Student, Algonquin College

Kathleen DeLong has accepted a one-year role as Interim Chair for the School of Library and Information Studies. This appointment commences on July 1, 2020, and is a half-time secondment.

Dr. Erik Kwakkel will be the new Director of the School of Information (iSchool) at the University of British Columbia.

Congratulations to the members of the Canadian librarianship community who were recognized in 2019 for their contributions to the profession and to Canadian society!

The Brampton Library today announced the retirement of Rebecca Raven, Chief Executive Officer since 2013, effective January 31, 2020. 

The Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA) today announced the appointment of Rina Hadziev as Executive Director. She succeeds Michael Ciccone who left CELA in August to join the London Public Library as Chief Executive Officer.

The funeral, followed by a Celebration of Life, will be on Sunday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church Cathedral, 414 Sparks Street, Ottawa.
