Save the date! Government Information Day, October 26th, 2017

June 27, 2017

The Carleton University Library and the University of Ottawa Library, in partnership with Library and Archives Canada (LAC), are organizing a one-day conference, Government Information Day, scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 26th, 2017 at LAC’s 395 Wellington Street location in downtown Ottawa.

Last year, Government Information Day was held at the University of Toronto. This year represents the 5th edition of this conference and will also mark Canada’s 150th anniversary, making the nation’s capital the ideal host for this year’s event. The conference will focus on the broad themes of Access to government information and data in an era of open by default and Extending preservation and access – government information and data beyond government, with presentations and panels from diverse groups and perspectives.

Government Information Day is designed as a forum for thought leaders, journalists, researchers, students, and librarians to explore how we can collaborate and engage with emerging and ongoing challenges and opportunities in the field of government information in Canada.

Stay tuned for more details and registration information. If you have any questions, please, feel free to get in touch with Sylvie Lafortune (sylvie.lafortune@carleton.ca) and Catherine McGoveran (catherine.mcgoveran@uottawa.ca).
