Call for Articles – Voices Theme Issue on Student Experiences

September 14, 2017

Librarianship.ca invites library and information students to submit short articles to an upcoming issue of Voices: Topics in Canadian Librarianship. The theme of the issue is, “My Summer.” Take insights from your library or information-related summer job, volunteer work, co-op or practicum and share them with the world!

Readers of Voices include library and information professionals across Canada and abroad. It’s a great opportunity to have your voice heard by practitioners.

Submission guidelines:

  • Length: 400-500 words
  • 1 or 2 relevant pictures can be submitted. We’d love to see fun pictures of you, your awesome team, your cool work space, or your project. Unfortunately, photos of your pets or lunch will not be accepted.
  • We do all the formatting, so don’t worry about fonts, columns, and all the design work.
  • Articles in either official language (English and French) are welcome.
  • Include your name, position at work, program and school with your submission.
    • Example: Robyn Cameron was an Information Specialist with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and is a second year Master of Information student in the User Experience Design and Knowledge and Information Management Student programs.
  • Submissions are due by October 10, 2017.

Possible topics can include:

  • your awesome job,
  • your cool projects,
  • your innovative/historical workspace,
  • your networking opportunities,
  • your new skills,
  • myths busted,
  • lessons learned,
  • or whatever other fun topic you can think of.
