Invitation To Contribute to the GLAM Value Study
May 22, 2019
Researchers from Oxford Economics Inc. spoke at the 2019 Summit on the Value of Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums (GLAMs) in Montreals on the value study of Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums.
This survey invitation from Ottawa Declaration Working Group below is a follow-up to the summit presentation.
Follow-up: Seeking your contribution to the GLAM Value Study
Dear Colleagues:
Many thanks for participating in the 2019 Summit on the Value of GLAMs – it made the conference that much more successful!
As you know, the presentation about the Value Study at the Summit was of preliminary findings. The exchanges were very useful, and were an opportunity to raise awareness about the study in progress.
Because the study needs to be representative of Canada and built on robust data from all the types and sizes of institutions from across the country, as promised, we invite you to:
A. provide data for the Value Study and
B. participate in a short survey on the GLAM professionals’ perception of the social benefits of GLAMs.
A. We are grateful to those of you who have kindly agreed to provide usage statistics. Your participation will greatly enhance the quality of what will be a valuable tool for GLAMs to communicate their value to policy makers and funders, as well as to users; now is your opportunity to contribute to its development!
Attached you will find information about the Study and the requested types of data. Please send your data or data-related questions to Oxford Economics at atessler@oxfordeconomics.com. The research team needs the data by June 15th.
B. As mentioned at the Summit, our survey of the Canadian population asked respondents to consider the importance of the contribution of GLAMs to Canadian society. We would like to ask GLAMs to respond to this survey as well, to provide comparative data.
We kindly ask you to fill in the following eight very short questionnaires. It should take no longer than ten minutes. It will be greatly appreciated if you can respond to the questionnaires no later than June 15th.
