Call for Applications: Kimberley Foundation Pandemic Flash Fund for Small Libraries

August 4, 2020

The Kimberley Foundation is inviting small libraries in Canada to apply for one-time grants of up to $1,000 to serve their communities during the COVID 19 pandemic.

Earlier this year, the Kimberley Foundation established the of Pat Morris Communities Matter Initiative, offering grants to Canadian libraries serving small communities to support acquisitions, programming, and outreach activities.

Who Can Apply?

Any small Canadian community library serving a population of 10,000 or less that is registered as a “Qualified Donee” under the Canada Revenue Agency is eligible to apply.

What is Eligible?

Grant requests of up to $1,000 will be considered for libraries that are working in unexpected ways to serve their communities during the COVID 19 pandemic.

This funding envelope is imagined to be a short-term, one-time help for small libraries to:

  • deliver non-traditional library outreach services,
  • offer pandemic related community services within the library,
  • provide services in a healthy and safe way for staff, volunteers and visiting community members.
