Canada’s Archives—A New Blueprint

October 14, 2015

Join us in Ottawa on November 13, 2015 as we mark the launch of “Canada’s Archives—A New Blueprint”

Dear Colleagues,

As you know, over the past year the Canadian Archival System Working Group has been drafting a new strategy for Canada’s archives. Now is your opportunity to join us in Ottawa, and to participate in setting priorities for the community as we move forward together!

At the upcoming launch of “Canada’s Archives—A New Blueprint,” all members of the Canadian archival community are invited to participate in a day-long event on November 13, 2015 that will be hosted by Library and Archives Canada at 395 Wellington Street in Ottawa.

Participants will join members of the Working Group to discuss the vision and areas of focus that will guide collaboration between members of the community over the next 10 years. This is your opportunity to help identify short- and medium-term priorities for the community that will allow us to better respond to the opportunities and the challenges faced by archives and archivists in the digital world.

The event will feature a keynote address by Ry Moran, Director, National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation, as well as a series of lightning-round presentations by academics and practitioners in the community. As always, this event will also provide you with a chance to network, converse, and connect with like-minded colleagues from across Canada.

More details will follow in the coming weeks. Please save the date, and confirm your participation before November 4, 2015 by emailing BAC.RSVP.LAC@canada.ca.

We look forward to meeting you in Ottawa!

Sincerely,

  • Association des archivistes du Québec
  • Association of Canadian Archivists
  • Canadian Council of Archives
  • Council of Provincial and Territorial Archivists
  • Library and Archives Canada
