Donations for the 2019 Forum for Information Professionals Conference

November 5, 2018

We are currently looking for organizations to donate to the upcoming Forum for Information Professionals annual conference that will be held in early February 2019.

Each year, graduate students in the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) at the University of Alberta host a free, one-day conference: the Forum for Information Professionals (FIP). This event benefits students, faculty and members of the library and information community by facilitating networking and dialogue on topics in librarianship, and provides students with the opportunity to showcase their research and gain conference experience. This year’s conference theme is “Cultural Engagement and Inclusive Access in Libraries,” which will focus on how we can work to bridge gaps and learn across boundaries to better understand and bring focus to the varied voices within libraries.

The success of our conference is strongly tied to the contributions of the library and information community. We are seeking funding to help cover conference costs, such as travel and accommodations for keynote speakers, free meals for attendees, and keeping the conference free of charge.

If your organization is interested in making a donation please contact myself at fip@ualberta.ca.

Thank you in advance for your support in this endeavour, and for making the conference a success this year and for years to come. We hope to see you at the conference this February!

Sincerely,

Christina Borys
Fundraising Coordinator
Forum for Information Professionals (FIP)
