The School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) at the University of Alberta announced the appointment of Dr. Kenneth Gariepy as its next Director starting on July 1, 2022.

Congratulations to the uAlberta School of Library and Information Studies on the continued accreditation of its MLIS program!

As the official end of the 2019-20 academic year approaches, a number of chairs and directors of Canada’s MLIS programs will be completing their terms.

Kathleen DeLong has accepted a one-year role as Interim Chair for the School of Library and Information Studies. This appointment commences on July 1, 2020, and is a half-time secondment.

We are seeking funding to help cover conference costs, such as travel and accommodations for keynote speakers, free meals for attendees, and keeping the conference free of charge.

In November 2017, the School of Library and Information Studies conducted its 28th annual employment survey of graduates of the MLIS program at the University of Alberta.

uAlberta SLIS recently released the results of a survey conducted of practitioners who had supervised MLIS students in the School’s Practicum course between 2015 and 2017.
