Alma Matters: Changes in Leadership in LIS Schools

As the official end of the 2019-20 academic year approaches, a number of chairs and directors of Canada’s MLIS programs will be completing their terms:

Hélène Carrier completes two years as Acting Director School of Information Studies (ÉSIS) at the University of Ottawa.

Luanne Freund completes her five-year term as Director of the School of Information at  The University of British Columbia.

Toni Samek completes her five year-term as Chair of the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) at the University of Alberta.

Mary Cavanagh has been appointed Director of the School of Information Studies (ÉSIS) at the University of Ottawa, effective July 1, 2020 for a three-year period.

Kathleen Delong has been appointed as Interim Director of the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) at the University of Alberta for a year beginning on July 1, 2020

Erik Kwakkel has been appointed Director of the School of Information at  The University of British Columbia for a three-year term, effective July 1, 2020.
